This motet was composed in 1869 by Anton Bruckner, for the dedication of the votive chapel of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Linz, Austria.
Originally for four unaccompanied voices, this piece has become firmly established as a favourite choral work of many choirs; and was at one time one of the prescribed works for the Choral Directing Diploma of the Royal College of Organists.
